BUFFS TURNING HEADS IN FALL CAMP

Colorado football is into it’s third week of fall camp , with two weeks down and two weeks to go until the season opener against Georgia Tech. Naturally , some players have been turning heads and have started separating themselves. Here’s a look at some of the guys that have been making noise

Omarion Miller

Buffs fans don’t need an introduction to Omarion Miller. Every time he’s gotten his shot, he’s made something happen .Now going into his junior season , with the league in his sights Omarion didn’t waste any time to get going .On Day 1, he wasted no time, cooking D.J. McKinney on a go ball. Since then, it’s been more of the same. The word is that he’s been a nightmare matchup for db’s all camp.

The Entire Starting Offensive Line
If you’ve been watching Colorado football under Coach Prime, you know the offensive line has been a sore spot. In both 2023 and 2024, the Buffs gave up 45-plus sacks. But so far this fall, the reports on the O-line have been encouraging.

Jordan Seaton, fresh off a freshman All-American season, is back to anchor the left tackle spot. Around him, there’s Zy Crisler s at right guard, Xavier Hill at left guard, Zarian McGill at center, and Larry Johnson at right tackle. Through the first two weeks of camp, this group has shown real chemistry especially in the run game, where they’ve been dominant. If that continues into the season, it could be the biggest difference maker for the Buffs’ offense.

Anquin Barnes
On the defensive side, one of the biggest stories of camp has been Anquin Barnes. In 2024, he played at around 350 pounds, but he’s slimmed down to 305 and the difference is showing. Barnes has been lining up as the starting nose tackle next to Amari, and he’s looked explosive more explosive and his sideline to sideline ability has improved.

Defensive tackles coach Domata Peko put it plainly: “Watch out for Anquin Barnes this year ,he’s gonna put on a show for you guys.” Based on the clips and reports coming out of fall camp, that’s exactly what he’s doing.

Quency Wiggins
Quency Wiggins came to Colorado from LSU last season, spending most of his time on special teams and getting spot snaps during blowouts. The thing about Wiggins, though, is he’s always been a physical freak and he’s only been playing football for about four years. That means his ceiling is high, but development was always going to be the key.

This fall, the progress is starting to show. Wiggins has been getting reps with the first-team defense at defensive end, and defensive coordinator Robert Livingston even singled him out as one of the “shooters” in this defense, guys who will be called on to make plays happen. If his growth keeps trending upward, Wiggins could be one of the surprise impact players of 2025.

There are more players that have been doing their thing over these past couple of weeks but these are the names that consistently stood out . Expect them to be key contributors when the buffs take on Georgia Tech
