Buckle up, y’all! It’s time to dive into the wild and wonderful world of college football, with a twist of slapstick comedy.
Let’s get right to it:
“FARMageddon” – the Big 12 season opener played in the lush green grass of Dublin, Ireland. Two corn-fed teams from the heart of middle America, battling it out in a game that was more anticipated for the pints of Guinness at halftime or Pint:30″ than the touchdowns on the field.
The first quarter was about as graceful as a pig in a tutu – sloppy, wet, all over the place, but still entertaining to watch. Fans were cheering, sure. Not for the game itself, but for the promise of a fresh beer at halftime. Let’s be real, what’s more important than a touchdown? A cold one, to celebrate said touchdown with of course!
As the snoozer of a game trudged towards halftime, or as the Irish like to call it, “Pint:30,” things took a hilarious turn in the 2nd half.
Let’s fast forward to K State failing to get the win in a close 4th quarter battle. My friends, this was an absolute rollercoaster of chaos and comedy. It was like a scene from a cinematic masterpiece, with twists and turns that even Hollywood couldn’t script. FUMBLE, PUNT, PUNT, FUMBLE, TURNOVER ON DOWNS, TD, TD, TD!!! From the boring slow burn of a first half, to the nail-biter of a 4th quarter. Going score for score on the field and then blow for blow off the feild.
In true Americana fashion, things got a little out of hand. Not on the field, mind you, but in the stands. A fight broke out between none other than the brother and father of K State’s starting QB. Yeep, y’all heard that right! After a tough loss to the Iowa State Cyclones, emotions ran high, and the family drama spilled into the stands in a showdown that even Jerry Springer would find entertaining.
So there you have it, folks. Have your popcorn popped by Thursday, at Pint:30 as we continue onto WEEK 1 of college football!

Stay thirsty my friends~
