Here’s to Week 1, where we know nothing and will soon learn something!
Baylor +2.5 vs. Auburn
Baylor at home at night with a quarterback I like in Sawyer Robinson is much more trustworthy than an Auburn team I have no idea will have any sort of stability in desperation mode as seen by Hugh Freeze forever.
Ohio State -2.5 vs. Texas
I’m sorry, but I get the defending national champions in a home opener ranked BEHIND a Texas team with the most hype surrounding it ever? Ryan Day gets up for big games that don’t include the color maize!
Clemson -3.5 vs. LSU
Brian Kelly in a big game opener on the road is something I need to see to believe given Clemson has the one thing no one has right now and the reason why everyone loves them: we actually know what they are.
Notre Dame -2.5 at Miami
This game is about trust and strength given the makeup of the teams in the trenches. You know who historically hasn’t shown any toughness or have any reason to trust them? Mario Cristobal and Miami.
North Carolina +3 vs. TCU
This is a gamble I’m willing to take at home with the best NFL coach in history. The unknown of him could surprise everyone and TCU just like Deion did in Fort Worth, or it could blow up in all of our faces; who knows?
Lock of the Week: New Mexico +34.5 at Michigan
Michigan is viewed as one of the “odd men out” in the rankings by starting a true freshman at quarterback and they lost a ton of production from last year; they only scored more than 30 points once last year. Give me New Mexico to cover that massive spread in the sweet teal southwestern teal.
