Every week of college football brings us big games. From big network pre game shows to big rivalry matchups, we hear the chatter all week. But if you dive into the schedule a bit, you’ll see that there is more than meets the eye. Each week I will showcase my Deep Cut game on the Saturday slate. Let’s dive in.
13 Oklahoma @ Temple 12pm ET

Now hear me out. You are all thinking “why the hell would I watch a Temple game?” You have every right to feel that way. The truth is, the only reason this game is on national TV is because it features Oklahoma. However, this game has more juice than most would likely assume. Temple has been rolling lately. Qb Evan Simon has thrown for 422 yards and 9 TD’s at a 77% clip through 2 games. Yes, 77%! The Owls have also complimented that passing game with 520 yards on the ground. As for the Sooners, it’s John Mateer. He’s the Heisman front runner right now and with good reason. Mateer has thrown for 662 yards, 4 TD’s while completing 72% of his passes. Oh yea, he leads his team in rushing as well. Oklahoma can make a statement today by hanging 50 on the Owls, but Temple has some momentum coming into the game. If the Owls can avoid turnovers, they could keep this a close game in Philly and it might be worth keeping an eye on.
