Can We Have a Saturday?

Sports fans, brace yourselves for a Saturday so packed with action it’s like trying to cram a whole tailgate’s worth of nachos into one bite. On September 27, 2025, college football’s Week 5 is serving gridiron gridlock, while the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black Course is dishing out golf drama spicier than a taco trucks hot sauce. Here’s the full rundown of today’s major events, ordered by start time.

At 9:00 AM ET, college football storms in like a linebacker after a fumble. No. 16 Georgia Tech takes on Wake Forest on ESPN, hoping to dodge any demonic shenanigans from the Deacons. Meanwhile, No. 21 USC clashes with No. 23 Illinois on FOX, where the Trojans might need more than Hollywood charm to outshine the Illini. Over on ABC, No. 22 Notre Dame faces Arkansas, and the Razorbacks are praying their hogs don’t get served up as Irish stew.

By 9:45 AM ET, Utah State challenges No. 18 Vanderbilt on SEC Network. Vandy’s probably got this locked down unless Utah State shows up with actual Aggies wielding pitchforks.

Now, let’s talk golf, because the Ryder Cup’s Day 2 at Bethpage Black Course in Long Island is already swinging harder than a drunk uncle at a wedding. Kicking off at 7:00 AM ET on NBC, Peacock, and the NBC Sports app, Team USA is battling Team Europe in morning fourball matches, followed by afternoon foursomes. Europe’s strutting into Saturday with a 5.5-2.5 lead after a Friday blitz, thanks to Jon Rahm and Tommy Fleetwood schooling the Americans like they’re teaching Golf 101. Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau, meanwhile, are licking their wounds after two losses each, while Patrick Cantlay and Cameron Young are the U.S.’s lone bright spots, scraping together a point and a half. Today’s morning foursomes feature matchups like DeChambeau/Young vs. Fitzpatrick/Aberg and Scheffler/Henley vs. MacIntyre/Hovland, with Europe leading in key matches as of 11:09 AM ET. The action pauses briefly after the morning session, then roars back at 12:00 PM ET with fourball matches, where Team USA’s hoping to channel their inner Rocky Balboa against Europe’s defending champs. Expect putts so clutch they could make a caddie cry and New York crowd roars loud enough to wake up Staten Island. Tune in to NBC for every chip, shank, and patriotic taunt.

Back to football at 3:30 PM ET, No. 1 Ohio State invades Washington on CBS/Paramount+, likely leaving Huskies fans whimpering. No. 4 LSU tangles with No. 13 Ole Miss on ABC, a SEC showdown hotter than a Louisiana summer. Auburn visits No. 9 Texas A&M on ESPN, where the Aggies hope to fend off a War Eagle sneak attack. No. 11 Indiana takes on Iowa on Peacock, and the Hawkeyes might need more than cornfield grit to stop the Hoosiers.

At 4:15 PM ET, No. 15 Tennessee faces Mississippi State on SEC Network. The Vols better bring their Smokey Mountain swagger, or they’ll be humming the wrong tune.

Evening delivers more pigskin pandemonium. At 7:00 PM ET, Arizona challenges No. 14 Iowa State on ESPN, where cyclones and wildcats mix like a meteorological soap opera. The primetime blockbuster at 7:30 PM ET pits No. 6 Oregon against No. 3 Penn State on NBC/Peacock, a Big Ten brawl so fierce it might need a referee with a PhD in conflict resolution. Also at 7:30 PM, No. 17 Alabama takes on No. 5 Georgia on ABC, with Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs snarling for redemption.

Finally, at 10:15 PM ET, No. 25 BYU faces Colorado on ESPN, closing the day with a late-night Rocky Mountain rumble.

So, can we have a Saturday? Only if your TV, snacks, and sanity can keep up with this sports tsunami. Again, LETS HAVE A DAY SPORTS FANS.
