Every week of college football brings us big games. From big network pre game shows to big rivalry matchups, we hear the chatter all week. But if you dive into the schedule a bit, you’ll see that there is more than meets the eye. Each week I will showcase my Deep Cut game on the Saturday slate. Let’s dive in.
Week 5 is absolutely loaded. Anyone with a pulse in the college football universe has heard the hype. The Saturday slate has the makings to be absolutely legendary. That being said, it is really tough to find a game in the weeds that I can consider a deep cut. I had to sell out this week and pick a game featuring a ranked team.

Hidden in the massive Saturday slate lies this SEC matchup with rather large implications. Auburn is coming off a tough loss to Oklahoma, a game that the Tigers really feel that they should have won. I would imagine that protecting the QB will be a point of emphasis today as they allowed 9 sacks to the Sooners last week. Auburn has a talented roster, and they will be fighting for their lives to not lose their second SEC matchup this early in the season.
For the Aggies, it’s a prove it game. They have a chance to prove they are worthy of a top 10 vote. A&M’s defense has been shaky to say the least, which is not what one would expect from a Mike Elko team. With the home crowd behind them, will the Aggies capitalize on this opportunity?
