We’re now through Championship Week for the 2025 college football season. Indiana beat Ohio State in the Big Ten. Georgia blew out Alabama in the SEC. Texas Tech handled BYU in the Big 12. And Duke took down Virginia in the ACC. Next up are bowls and the College Football Playoff.

The 2026 NFL draft is still more than four months away. But our NFL draft analysts are always looking down the road, taking early notes on top prospects and starting to stack their rankings for an exciting class.

With that in mind, Mel Kiper Jr., Matt Miller and Jordan Reid sized up CFB action through a draft-centric lens on Sundays all season long. They answered lingering questions on the best 2026 prospects, shared insights from scouts, picked out risers to watch and pulled back the curtain on their evaluation process. Here is what they saw and heard each week.

Jump to notes on: Week 15 | Week 14 | Week 13 | Week 12 Week 11 | Week 10 | Week 9 | Week 8 Week 7 | Week 6 | Week 5 Week 4 | Week 3 | Week 2

At 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Branch will be a slot receiver in the NFL, and offensive coordinators will be able to get creative with him, potentially getting him on the move on jet sweeps and keeping defenses guessing. I still think Branch could be a Day 1 pick, but at the very least, he’d be a great steal in the second round.

Miller: Kenyatta Jackson Jr., Edge, Ohio State. In a quiet game for Arvell Reese, Jackson stepped up as a pass-rushing presence for the Buckeyes in their close loss to Indiana. The 6-foot-6, 285-pound end showed the trademark strength and length that has made him a top-100 presence on draft boards for NFL scouts. Jackson made an impact against the run, picked up three tackles and notched a sack of Fernando Mendoza. He has 6.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss now over 13 games.

McDonald really got my attention in the Washington game back in September. He had two sacks and showed his tremendous run-stuffing traits. McDonald is strong and quick at 6-foot-3 and 326 pounds, and his ability to seal up the middle has freed up Ohio State’s talented linebackers at the second level. He just needs to work on his pass rushing and get more penetration on the interior.

An honorable mention: Texas Tech edge rusher David Bailey. He was a good player at Stanford before transferring, and he entered the season as a solid Day 2 prospect, but he has taken his game to another level in 2025. Bailey is 11th on my board, and he displays speed, power and bend off the edge. He has a variety of ways to get to the QB, and he’s so consistent. Bailey has 13.5 sacks and 20.5 tackles for loss this year; he combined for 14.5 and 22.5 over the previous three seasons.

Miller: Left tackle Trevor Goosby was the star while facing the SEC’s sack leader in Cashius Howell. He plays with balance and mobility, but he’s also a punisher in the run game. He is constantly looking for work when the ball moves downfield. That all showed up Friday night against Texas A&M.

Miller: After missing four weeks with a hamstring injury, Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson left Friday night’s game against Arizona with what looked like a reaggravation of that injury. Teams are going to have to weigh these injury concerns. He was seen as the top receiver in the class, but based on the total picture of his game and health, Tyson probably projects more as a mid-to-late first-rounder than top-10 talent.
